RT-PCR shows that the gene encoding At3g44830 protein was clearly expressed in developing seeds but only at extremely low levels in leaves and flowers. Since the AtPDAT gene (At5g13640), on the other hand, was constitutively expressed, this indicates that the two proteins might have different physiological functions with At3g44830 perhaps having a specific role in TAG deposition.
